Terms and Conditions
Last updated: August 2, 2026
1. Agreement
These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your access to and use of Horme (the "Service"), including our website, progressive web app, and related features. By using Horme, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
2. The Service
Horme is a productivity tool that helps you organize tasks with an Eisenhower-style priority matrix, track progress (such as XP, streaks, and achievements), collaborate with teams, and optionally use integrations you connect yourself (for example Google services or a Gemini API key).
We may update, change, suspend, or discontinue parts of the Service at any time. Features labeled as optional, experimental, or free may change or end without notice.
3. Accounts and guest mode
- Guest mode: You may use core features without creating an account. Guest data is stored mainly on your device and can be lost if you clear browser storage, switch devices, or uninstall the app.
- Registered accounts: You may sign up with email and password or a supported OAuth provider (such as Google). You are responsible for keeping your credentials secure and for activity under your account.
- You must provide accurate information and be at least the age required in your jurisdiction to use online services (or have a parent/guardian's consent where required).
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Misuse the Service, attempt unauthorized access, or disrupt other users
- Upload unlawful, harmful, or infringing content
- Abuse team invites, leaderboards, referrals, or gamification features
- Reverse engineer, scrape, or overload the Service beyond normal use
- Use Horme in violation of applicable law
We may suspend or terminate access if we reasonably believe these Terms were violated.
5. Your content
You retain ownership of tasks, notes, profile details, and other content you create ("Your Content"). You grant us a limited license to host, store, process, and display Your Content solely to operate and improve the Service (for example syncing across devices when you have an account, or showing public profile details you choose to make public).
You are responsible for Your Content and for any permissions needed to share it with teammates or through integrations you enable.
6. Third-party services
Horme may rely on third parties such as Appwrite (backend/auth), Google (OAuth and optional Sheets/Calendar/Gemini), EmailJS (invite emails), and push notification providers. Their terms and privacy policies apply to their services. We are not responsible for third-party outages, policy changes, or how those providers handle data once you connect them.
If you supply your own API keys or service-account credentials (BYOK), you remain responsible for those keys, their billing, and usage limits.
7. Intellectual property
Horme, including its name, branding, UI, and software (excluding Your Content), is owned by us or our licensors. These Terms do not grant you ownership of the Service.
8. Disclaimers
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available." To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation, or that gamification metrics, reminders, or AI suggestions will meet your expectations.
9. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of data, profits, or goodwill, arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the greater of (a) amounts you paid us for the Service in the three months before the claim, or (b) USD $50.
10. Termination
You may stop using Horme at any time and may delete your account where that option is available. We may suspend or end access if required for security, legal, or operational reasons, or if you breach these Terms.
11. Changes
We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms. Material changes may be highlighted in the app or on the website when practical.
